Theres no better way to start that year than with a challenge to really test the teamwork in the groups. Each team was given a packet of marshmallows, one packet of spaghetti and 20 minutes to create the tallest tower. The challenge started well with all the children in the groups working well together. They placed their marshmallows and spaghetti strategically, however as the towers started to fall over you could see frustration and determination on the kids faces. Ultimately the challenge ended in the children squeezing all the marshmallows and spaghetti together in hope that it would all stick long enough for us to judge a winner. It was a very fun activity that ended with lots of broken spaghetti sticks and squished marsh-mellows on the floor (sorry cleaners).
