Ski Trip!!!

 Today some of Room 5 and Room 6 went up to Porters Pass ski field. We all had a wonderful day in the sun learning to ski and snow board. 

They day started for most of us at 5:30 as we had to be at the ski field to meet the instructors by 8:45. When we got us there we had to get our skiis and snowboards fitted before we could hit the slopes. For some of us this was the first time we had been there before. By the end of the day you could not tell that some of us were new to this sport. 

Everyone went out and gave it their best go. We were all very good by the end of the day. 

We would like to thank Mrs Bailey for organising it and all the wonderful parents that helped out on the day. Without your support this wouldn't have been able to happen. Here are a bunch of photos from our great day out. 

Matariki feast.

 This week we read the book Matariki Breakfast. We learnt that some people celebrated matariki by having a shared feast together. We decided to combine out learning of fractions and matariki to cut our sausage rolls into fractions.  First we cut them into halves, then we cut them into quarters and then finally we cut them into eighths. They were delicious. 

Canterbury cross country

Congratulations to our super running Kingsley for competing in the Canterbury cross country. You did a wonderful job and made us all very proud. Well done!!

 

Enjoying the sunny day!

Today we decided to head outside to enjoy the sun we were lucky to have. We really practice out hand eye coordination skills by playing some passing and catching games. We displayed great communication skills when we interacted with our new buddies.
